For your lab final, instead of an exam, you will be watching a video and writing about the video as you view it.
Document each discovery described in the video. For each discovery, name the discovery and then, using complete sentences 1) name the person or people who made the discovery, 2) state when (or approximately when) the discovery was made, 3) describe the discovery, and 4) describe the significance of the discovery to advancing our knowledge of Biology.
Use this format (number each discovery):
1) Discovery: The structure of DNA
Discovered by Rosalind Franklin, James Watson and Francis Crick
Discovered in 1953
The scientists conformed that DNA was a helical, double-stranded molecule.
The discovery was significant because by knowing the structure of DNA, scientists could then proceed to understand the process of DNA replication, mechanisms of protein synthesis and of inheritance, and develop tools of genetics, such as those that are used for diagnosing and treating genetic disorders and for developing crops and livestock to be more productive.
